È una canzone dichiaratamente natalizia, scritta da Edward Pola e George Wyle ed incisa nel 1962 da Andy Williams, anche se negli anni è stata reinterpretata da un numero spropositato di artisti. Nella sua versione originale è stato inclusa nel film del 2005 Lord of war, con protagonista Nicholas Cage, ed è stato anche eseguito in un episodio del 2010 della serie televisiva Glee. Il testo descrive scene tipiche del periodo natalizio, che viene più volte definito il periodo più bello dell’anno citando i luoghi comuni più noti. “È il periodo più bello dell’anno, con i bambini che suonano le campane e tutti ti dicono Sii di buon animo”, “ci sarà molto vischio, e i cuori risplenderanno quando saranno vicini gli innamorati”. Chissà se per qualcuno tutto ciò non sia vero.
